Welcome to our help centre, hopefully all the questions you have are answered, if not, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Shipping

Cacao takes great care with the shipping of your order to ensure that it arrives in optimal condition. To ensure that your order does not get to hot, we use a combination of polystyrene boxes in summer combined with ice packs (year round) to keep the temperature from getting to hot inside the box.

If you order on a friday during the warmer mouths, or you live in northern Australia, we will sometimes delay shipping on a friday to ensure that your order does not get left in a warm warehouse over the weekend, if your order is going to be delayed, we will notify you by email.

We use Fastway & Fastway Couriers for all deliveries Australia Wide. Please note, at the moment we do not deliver to Western Australia or Northern Territory as freight takes too long which can result in melted chocolates upon delivery. Deliveries must be signed for, so if it is possible please get your order delivered were someone will be able to sign for your shipment during business hours. In the event that the parcel cannot be delivered, a card will be left by the driver explaining how pickup can be arranged.

Please note, as we use a courier service for all deliveries, we are unable to deliver to Post Office Boxes.
At the moment we have suspended shipments to the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

If you live in Melbourne and place your order before 9am then we will endeavour to get your order out in our morning pickup, which should ensure your order gets delivered the same day. All orders received before 12pm will be shipped the same day, the exception being fridays when we may hold freight for dispatch on Monday to ensure your order is not left in a warm warehouse over the weekend.

How much does freight cost, and how long will it take to be delivered?

We do not include a printed invoice in shipments, invoices are emailed to you when an order is placed.

Disclaimer

We believe that we have aligned ourselves with excellent delivery partners, but there may be times when, despite their best efforts, parcels are delayed in the delivery process. We will always endeavor to work with our delivery partners to ensure prompt arrival of your products.

Returns

Cacao.com.au cannot exchange or refund goods due to the perishable nature of chocolate, so please order carefully.

Goods Damaged on Delivery

Cacao.com.au will replace any order that has reached you in an unacceptable condition. However, we cannot be held responsible if you are not present when your order is delivered, please ensure you get your order shipped were it can be signed for during business hours. Please note that if nobody is available to sign for delivery a card will be left allowing you to call our courier and arrange another delivery time or pickup from a local post office.

Refunds

We can only refund your order if it has not yet shipped, once your order has left our warehouse we can no longer refund your order. Please note that almost all orders ship same day, so let our customer service know as soon as you are able if you wish to cancel your order.

Exchanges

When you are ready to finalise payment on your purchase, a number of convenient & safe payment options are available: Online Credit Card, phone or fax details your credit card details or an Australia Post money order.

All orders must be prepaid. If we are unable to fill an order we will refund you immediately.

Offline Payment

If you are still not comfortable purchasing online, that's fine. Select the 'Fax/phone your Credit Card information' option on the Payment Information page during the checkout process. You will be emailed instructions on how to pay by phone or email once you confirm your order. You will also be presented with the option to print a faxable payment form. This form can also be printed from your 'My Account' page, by selecting the corresponding order number, and viewing the order details.

What are your shops opening hours?
Cacao is open from 7am - 7pm everyday (Christmas day we are open from 7am - 5pm, New Years day we open from 10am - 7pm).

Do your chocolate products contain nuts and other allegins?
Yes, a lot of our chocolate products have nuts as a main ingredient, and the rest is made using equipment that may contain traces of nuts.

How long has Cacao been open?
Cacao has been open since October 2003.

Who is your head chef?
Cacao's head chef is Laurant Meric, click here for more details on Laurant's culinary training & creative vision.

How do you pack your orders to stop them melting?
To make certain that Cacao chocolate orders arrive in optimum condition we use insulated boxes and ice-packs to keep the chocolate within the optimal temperature range. During summer we will often hold orders back from shipping to ensure they are not kept in a hot warehouse over the weekend, if we do this to your order, we will notify you by email.

How long does it take to get my order?
If you place your order before 2pm on monday - friday we will generally ship your order the same day. For a guide of how long it takes to get to you please see the table below:

Do you ship internationally?
Due to the perisable nature of chocolate it is impossible for us to reliably ship outside Australia.

Can I get a personalised gift card sent with my order?
Absolutely, during the checkout process, you will be asked if you would like to have a free gift card, with a message of your choice, included with your order. For more details, click here.

Does your chocolate contain Soy Lecithin?
Yes, all our chocolates contain only small amounts of soy lecithin.

Are your chocolates gluten free?
All except two of handmade individual chocolates are gluten free, the two chocolates being the Camille & Muscadine, both only have small amounts of gluton. There may be small residual amounts of gluton in our other chocolates as they are prepared in the same area.

Are any of your chocolates halal (contain no alcohol or animal products)?
Yes, a few Cacao chocolates are considered Halal and contain no animal products or alcohol.
