Big, sticky and complicated problems always come with opportunities and can be a silver lining to reinvent and push the boundaries. If Cacao Lab has someone to thank, it would be H&M which had set its sights on GPO last year, resulting in the business needing to find a new location to operate in.
Owner Tim Clark and his team took the opportunity to step back and look at their business model from the outside, developing the idea to create a concept store. “We realised while Melbourne has so many great restaurants and eateries, there aren’t many boutique /quality places focused on desserts,” explains Tim Clark. “We want each of our stores to have a different focus. Our St Kilda store, for example is focused on delivering excellent pastries. This store will focus on classic flavours and dessert.”
Opening throughout the day and late trading on Thursdays and Fridays, it’s the perfect way to indulge with a friend to make for a unique catch up or to top off to a date.
The launch night of Cacao Lab was a dessert showcase to remember. From little almond meal biscuits with very cute faces to Red Bull and Vodka miniature sherbert ice creams, the desserts were spectacular and kooky. The presentation was immaculate and so to was the taste with each delight being better than the previous.
Cacao Lab is dessert destination that will rival the best that Melbourne has to offer. Whether you are in the bad books or out to impress, Cacao Lab is the best destination.
